ABOUT BRUNO ÁZERA
Born and raised on Terceira Island in the Azores, I am a professional landscape photographer with a deep passion for capturing the natural beauty of my homeland. My artistic journey began with music, inspired by my older brother and father, as I took up the electric bass during my teenage years. However, it was through exploring the breathtaking Azorean landscapes that I discovered my true calling in photography.
Living in the Azores has profoundly shaped my photography style. The lush greens of the islands, the deep blues of the Atlantic Ocean, and the golden yellows of the best light of the day are intrinsic to my work, reflecting the vibrant and ever-changing beauty of this unique archipelago.
I specialize in leading landscape photo tours and workshops across the Azores and, more recently, Madeira Island. These experiences guide participants to the most picturesque locations at the perfect times of day. As a local, I provide not only access to these stunning landscapes but also insights into the rich culture and diverse gastronomy of the islands, ensuring a truly comprehensive and immersive experience for all attendees.
In addition to these tours, I have developed detailed photo guides for independent travelers who share a passion for photography. Covering Terceira, São Miguel, Flores, Corvo, and Madeira Islands, these guides are the result of years of exploration and are designed to help photographers discover the best nature and landscape photography spots.
My work has been featured in prominent media outlets, including National Geographic and various television commercials, showcasing the vibrant colors and rugged landscapes of the Azores. I am also proud to collaborate with organizations committed to sustainability, such as Futurismo Azores Adventures, where my photography fosters a deeper connection to the natural world.
Through my lens, I aim to share the unparalleled beauty of the Azores, inspiring others to appreciate and preserve the natural wonders that surround us.
MY GEAR
My current gear includes a Nikon Z8, a backup Sony ZV-E1 for video, an array of professional lenses, and a DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone, enabling me to capture stunning aerial perspectives. I strive to travel light while maintaining exceptional quality. For post-production, I rely on Adobe Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Luminar NEO, and DaVinci Resolve Studio for video editing.
I never liked filters, the less gear I use the better. But last year I got my hands on the Maven Magnetic Filters and immediately shifted my way of thinking. Magnetic filters are really the way forwarded.
Exploring these landscapes demands a backpack that can withstand the elements while providing secure storage for my gear. The new Peak Design Outdoor Backpack 45L is going to be my companion on every adventure going forward, offering ample space for cameras, lenses, drones, and accessories. Its durable construction and customizable compartments ensure that my equipment remains protected and easily accessible, no matter where my photographic pursuits take me.
